To become a signature member of the American Impressionist Society, you must be accepted into the the annual show multiple times over a designated period of time. I’m thankful to have achieved this designation and have a painting selected for inclusion in the 16th annual exhibition. Unfortunately, some shows have not accepted my entries. It has made me curious to know the experience of other artists. Do you have any tips for success in having your work accepted? Do you believe that certain genres or compositions (e.g. portraits) receive preferential inclusion and awards? Have you found benefit in advertising in art magazines that promote these events? Please submit your comments as I believe many of us have a contribution to make in this dialogue.
