Christina’s Window – Andrew Wyeth Visited Olson Home Often

Andrew Wyeth is a famous American artist of the 20th century. One of his most famous paintings is called Christina’s World. Mr. Wyeth had a summer home in Cushing, Maine. When in town, he often visited the Olson family and sketched and painted many of the family members and their property. Christina Olsen suffered from polio. While visiting the historical home from the 1700’s during my recent paint trip to Maine, I captured this scene of the chairs Christina would sit at as she viewed the world through the kitchen window.
